Marrakech Through My Eyes

Marrakech is undeniably one of my favorite cities. Its vibrant energy, coupled with the warmth of its people, creates an enchanting atmosphere. I adore the exquisite flavors of its cuisine and the stunning beauty that surrounds me at every turn. Each moment spent in this captivating city is truly unforgettable.

When visiting Marrakech, there are several must-see sights that capture the essence of this vibrant city. Start with the iconic Jardin Majorelle, a stunning garden filled with exotic plants and vibrant colors, which is also home to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. This museum is a celebration of the legendary designer’s life and work, showcasing his artistic legacy and connection to Morocco, followed by a visit to the historic Medina, where you can wander through bustling souks and admire intricate architecture. The majestic Koutoubia Mosque is a must-see, as is the beautiful Bahia Palace, a stunning example of Moroccan artistry with its exquisite gardens and intricate tile work. Don’t forget to explore the lively Djemaa el-Fna square, where street performers and food stalls create a magical atmosphere. To truly experience the allure of Morocco, take a tour of the Sahara Desert, where you can ride camels across the dunes, witness breathtaking sunsets, and immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the desert landscape.

For an unforgettable stay in Marrakech, consider the luxurious La Mamounia, renowned for its exceptional service and stunning architecture, making it one of the finest hotels in the city. Alternatively, experience authentic Moroccan hospitality at a traditional riad. We enjoyed our stay at Riad Anya, where we spent a lovely few days immersed in the charm of the medina. The atmosphere was delightful, and we savored a wonderful homemade breakfast each morning, making our visit truly special.

During your time in Marrakech, La Mamounia is a must-visit for its diverse dining options, where you can enjoy exquisite meals as well as delightful pastries and coffee in the morning or afternoon. For a romantic atmosphere and delicious Italian cuisine, head to La Trattoria for a charming lunch or dinner. Coffee lovers shouldn’t miss Bacha Coffee, which offers the best brews and an impressive selection to choose from! Be sure to check out Dardar for the best rooftop views and fantastic music, perfect for a relaxing evening. For a lovely bite near the market, Café des Épices is a great spot to take a break, and don’t forget to stop by the Jardin Majorelle, where you can indulge in delightful coffee and pancakes as you soak in the beauty of the gardens.

As I conclude my journey, I know I will always revisit Marrakech to recharge and find peace. Truly, it will always hold a special place in my heart, inviting me to return and revel in its magic.

Love, Alexandra xx
